Rebecca Smudova
Contemporary Jazz
Rebecca Smudova is a professional dancer, dance teacher and a choreographer focused in
modern and contemporary dance.
She discovered her passion for dance in age 5. After education in Dance Conservatory (SK)
she continued her studies of dance in Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (SK), Anton
Brückner Universität (AT) and Falmouth University (UK).
She started her career of a dance performer soon after finishing her master studies in dance
pedagogoy and collaborated with several well known choreographers such as Francesca
Zaccaria, Lukas Bobalik, Livia MM Balazova or Andrej Petrovic.
Her choreographic work was presented in Slovakia, Chzech Republic and Great Britan in
several international festivals and venues. In 2018 she premiered a piece called Of fear and
Desire (UK), followed with The Duet with Michal Toman and Fun Fatale in 2019.
In 2023 she toured with a piece Happy Ending , and finished a piece for a dance studio Art
Studio Z called SELF. She also collaborated with City Theater in her home town as
a movement director.
She started her teaching journey in a TUTU ballet studio in Bratislava. In 2019 she became
a modern and contemporary dance teacher in a Private Dance School and shortly after that
also in Conservatory, Zilina. Nowadays, she works as a dance teacher in Malmö.
